New Internet Marketing Basics Class (Armand Morin Resell Project)

Here's a new twist on a resell rights approach. I'd recommend you follow this one!I bought resell rights to Armand Morin's excellent Internet Marketing Basics 101 course. But, here's what I did to A) add value and B) stand out in the search engines. Instead of just selling as is, I added some bonuses of my own, updated the sales letter (to add content for the SEs, etc.). It now has new content and my name on it and I'm selling it for the same price Armand does. But of course, I've added additional content to it.And, to round things out, I purchased a new Domain for easy marketing purposes and then just forwarded that to the store. The masked forwards are part of the Domain cost a 1PlaceforEverything.com.Check out www.NewInternetMarketingBasics101.com to see what I've done with the product. more...

Google Simplifies their AdWords System

Google AdWords loses some of it’s complexity. Google is dropping the 5 various ad delivery states in favor of having ads be active or inactive. Lower relevancy ads may still run by paying a premium for not being relevant, while some higher relevancy ads get a deeper discount for their relevancy.

MLM Recruiting- MLM Online Recruiting 101 for Network Marketing

Recruiting on the Internet in MLM is very popular! Yet, there are still many folks who are hesitant to jump into the arena of the Internet. I assure you the best way of learning HOW to use the Internet is to just do it!

And if you have already chosen to be a part of the Internet culture, then we congratulate you on a decision that we believe is where you need to be. The recruiting process on the Internet is NOT unlike the process offline, you still must prospect, contact, present, follow up, get the decision, and train and duplicate. But you need to understand that there MUST be a methodical process of creating the environment for attracting people to your website and then to ATTRACT them to your Network Marketing business.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ONLINE MARKETING SECRET:
There is a LIVE HUMAN BEING behind the computer monitor that you are trying to recruit. Treat them as such, and with respect and professionalism. This is one of the Foundation Secrets that you must understand.

Everybody you prospect to on the Internet is breathing, has goals and dreams and understands that there is more to life than just surviving. And giving your prospect PERSONAL attention is even MORE important on the Internet than it is offline!

You MUST understand that your emails and ALL your communication is being read by a LIVE, BREATHING, HUMAN BEING on 'the other side' of the computer screen. I repeat this because even though it is obvious to most people, most people on the Internet fail to ACT like it in their MLM recruiting efforts.

RELATIONSHIPS are just as important over the Internet as it is offline. Sometimes even more important, since today's marketing methods on the Internet are not all done professionally.
Remember, the same principles hold true for building relationships on the Internet. It usually takes a series of consistent exposures. It takes time to build trust. And personalization is VERY important, especially on the Internet and MLM recruiting.

Everyone wants to be treated well, and with respect. And they also want to feel that they are special. So with your understanding that there is a LIVE human being on the other side of the computer screen. You need to create the scenario that you may go beyond the computer.
You MUST CONNECT with your person OFFLINE after gaining their interest, to create the start of the relationship, usually via telephone.

The other side of that computer monitor is a very special place that you must always keep in mind when recruiting, as that will determine a lot of where your recruiting grows, or doesn't grow.

PEOPLE WANT 3 THINGS:

1) To FEEL they are respected for who they are and their values honored.
2) To FEEL that someone cares about them instead of just want to recruit them.
3) To establish a connection with someone they FEEL they can trust and can help LEAD them to success!

If you can TOUCH, then TELL, you will much more likely to have a viable prospect than not.

Ask them about:
Family. Interests. Success. Hobbies. Career.

We call that the 'FISH-C Formula' for Connecting.

EMAIL 101:

ALWAYS Use a Signature (sig) File! This is free advertising for your company and for you. I cannot believe how many emails I still get from folks who don't use this great feature....it will be in the 'options' section on the navigation bar in your email program. In your Signature File, you should ALWAYS include your name, email address, phone number and website address. Yes, include your phone number! You want to be personal right? They MIGHT want to call you directly!

PROMOTING YOUR WEBSITE:

Having a website is a MUST. Here's a few basics about getting your own website if you don't already have one, and how to increase traffic to generate more leads and a larger warm market on the Internet. Your advertising focus MUST be on getting people to visit your website.
Have you noticed that EVERY type of media now advertises their website? Newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, every advertisement you see or listen to now advertises their website encouraging you to visit. Why? Convenience and Culture. Everyone who has Internet access can check out your information at THEIR convenience, and it works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, is part of our Culture now. AND it's cost effective!

A Network Marketing distributor website with PULLING POWER is a strong indication of the seriousness you and your company project, and most companies today have a websitethat can be pointed to and accessed for information and links. Even though most are limited to what they allow you to do as a distributor, you still need a 'visual commercial' on the Internet, and company websites will work fine. And there are some HOT company sites out there.
Always CROSS-MARKET. Always advertise your website AND your phone number. This way anyone can contact you to get the information they need.

Not everyone has DSL. Some are still on dial up. And some people will still prefer to call you to answer questions or build the personal contact that is required to form a relationship. If you have your own recruiting website, that is best. You will be able to have it designed and programmed to do exactly what YOU want.

However, it can be very expensive. There are several 'self-replicating' websites with pre-programmed web pages designed for recruiting out there. A self-replicating website offers EASY DUPLICATION. You go to the website, enter some information and sign up, then you can have your own personalized version of a main website.

Many of these websites are free, and the best looking sites may not be your company's own website. But, if your company offers a self-replicating site that is personalized, utilize it! Get ALL your downline using this training system! And it's great for prospecting too.
Everyone wants something FREE! Even other networkers can't say no to at least checking out your website, and maybe your opportunity later. You probably won't actually be selling anything from this website, but it's a great way to increase your leads and start building new relationships. Use them as a learning tool!

One thing you must learn in recruiting on the Internet. YOU MUST DO SOMETHING!
Just do something EVERY day. Persistency and consistency are two the best skills in Internet marketing. Continue trying new advertising methods and new websites to increase traffic. Make sure you follow up with every email you receive, offer something of VALUE to them. Tell them about a great new e-zine of yours that they can subscribe to for free or some other item that keeps your message in front of them on an ongoing basis!

Having your own website will work best for bringing people off-line to online. Tell your friends, family, co-workers, strangers, everyone to visit your website. Call them and personally invite them to check it out.

Just say, 'Hi Betty, this is David, do you have a second? Great! I need your help on something. I have a new website and I really wanted to get your input on it. I think it is something you will be interested in when you're finished will you give me a call back so we can chat? Thanks Betty.'
How difficult was that? You MUST learn to think 'outside the box'. Get people curious. Be personal. Then you will be more effective. Your success depends proportionately on your activities and attitude! Most people always seem to find what they're looking for. Are you looking for Success or failure?

Remember, learning is a continuous process and if stop learning, you stop living. Learning HOW to effectively use the Internet for recruiting does take time and effort, but YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

SECRETS TO FOLLOW UP:

In network marketing, whether online and offline, the Fortune is in the Follow Up!If you are going to be successful recruiting on the Internet, you MUST follow up with your interested prospects. Would you discover a gold mine and not finish the digging?

It is the same concept. So many people are afraid to complete the process because they are afraid someone will tell them 'NO'. Here's My Secret: It's not the YES's in this business that create wealth. It's the NO's. You will get a NO the majority of the time. But those with the biggest pile of No's create wealth in the long run.

How you handle the No's will determine if it will be wealth, or only a wish to be successful in your network marketing business and in life.

You are in the business of COLLECTING DECISIONS. It doesn't matter if it is a YES or a NO. Either way, you must collect them! You MUST FOLLOW UP to collect the decision, and that is where you make your money -- getting the decision. Especially on the internet.

For every 12 No's you get, you most likely will get a Yes. Fear plays a lot in recruiting on the Internet because many folks have fear that the results they want will not happen. You generally get in this business what you expect to get. And you generally don't get what you don't ALLOW to be in your life. If you collect a LOT of decisions, you will make a LOT of money. If you collect a few decisions, you will make a few dollars.

The more you follow up, the more your check will go up! Believe it or not, over 80% of network marketers NEVER follow up!

And I bet if you did the opposite, and followed up on 80% of your interested prospects you would create an MLM money machine that would create WEALTH from the Internet.
WE DID A SURVEY RECENTLY OF OVER 1,000 DISTRIBUTORS AT RANDOM, AND DISCOVERED AN AMAZING STATISTIC, AMONG OTHER THINGS.

Less than 30% of the distributors we surveyed had a system of following up, and contacted the people on a methodical basis they had sent information to.

Less than 10% did that daily! Can you believe that?

And the answer we got when we asked them, 'Why didn't you follow up?' was consistently 'If they are interested, they would have called me.' Most folks will not call you back because they see that as your responsibility, and many want to see how serious you are about your business.
The fortune you are seeking is not in the prospecting, not in the contacting, not in the presentation, nor the website, nor advertising (online or offline.)They all help to determine theultimate result. But If you don't follow up, you will NEVER sign them up! If you just follow up on the prospects you have, you can triple your income fairly quickly. Consistent follow up when recruiting, screams LEADERSHIP!

How many folks will get excited about something that you aren't excited enough over to call them back to seek their opinion? The CONSISTENCY in your follow up will mostly determine the consistency in your paycheck. There is a gold mine in front of you, but you must dig. You must labor to find the gold vein that is within the mine. It is there, yet most people walk away from it laying down their shovels and fortunes, in return for an easier way to get through life and living off of the fool's gold that other miners cast aside. Don't lay down your shovel and accept fool's gold that only fools will try and cash in. Your gold mine is in your list of follow ups.
There is a breathing human being on the other side of the computer monitor. NEVER forget it and you won't be forgotten. Keep the focus on them and only on them. They will FEEL that you are sincere, personal and have THEIR best interest at heart, which probably will mean they will take you more seriously as a Network Marketing recruiter on the internet!

Time-Proven Strategies That Increase Targeted Web Site Traffic For Free

Today Internet has over 36,000,000 web sites, and statistics says that most of these web sites are DEAD - they do not get targeted web site traffic. Only targeted visitors give real online life to web site, and only targeted visitors can be converted into real profits on the web site. That is why those who understand the value of targeted traffic, fight for it every day, and this fight is getting wilder and wilder.
But fighting for targeted web site traffic without the knowledge of winning traffic-building strategies is a blind fight. You may waste your time, money and nerves and never see targeted visitors on your web site.
No it is time to face problems at full arms - you get the most powerful weapon in the history - professional knowledge how to drive and increase free targeted web site traffic for any online business.
The best knowledge is the knowledge that already proved its effectivity. That is why this article will show you the techniques and strategies that are used by famous Internet marketing gurus: Joe Vitale, Yanik Silver, John Reese, Dan Kennedy, Jeff Mulligan, Terry Dean and others. These people made millions on Internet marketing andyou can follow the best of their experience.
Today, there is a bundle of time-proven strategies that help to increase targeted web site traffic and convert it into more online sales.
1. Get top joint-venture partners and affiliates from your niche who will drive targeted web site traffic for your online business.
This idea is simple and very effective. Every business niche has itstoppers - those who are very successful with gathering clients. These people have already done a great job for you, because they gatheredquality clients, subscribers and prospects in your niche. All you haveto do is find these toppers and offer them affiliate or joint-venture partnership.
You can do it in some steps: submit the main keyword of your online business into search engine, get 20-50 top web sites in your niche, email their owners and make them an irresistible offer. They will bring you targeted visitors and you will share part of the profits with them. Be ready to share, this will give you more profits in future.
So, do some good thinking about what commissions you can offer your partners and use this tip. JV partners and affiliates will do your job, and you will get quality traffic.
2. Raise your web site rank with link exchange.
Link exchange opens huge potential for growing the rank of web site with search engines. When many web sites in your business niche have your link on their web sites, and your web site has their links, search engines qualify your web site as a source of high attention.
The search engines follow simple logics: if many web sites "think" that your web site is good and put your link, it means you web site really deserves high estimation. They give your web site a higher rank and when someone runs a search for your keywords, your web site gets to the top in found results.
The benefit from getting higher rank is evident: all web sites need targeted traffic. Search engine users are very targeted, as they are already LOOKING for your offer in search engine. Thus, you will get targeted web site traffic.
There are some tips about link exchange. You must exchange links withrelevant web sites - the web sites that are in your business niche. You must put the links form other web sites to a special link directory on your web site. The directory must have subcategories and sub-subcategories: the deeper is your directory "tree", the better it is in terms of search engine optimization. The names for categories in your link exchange directory must coincide with quality keywords in your niche.
These are not all the tips about link exchange, but the general picture about the value of this strategy becomes clear.
3. Convert targeted traffic into more online sales with professional mailing tools.
Once you got targeted visitors to your web site, use time-proven mailing strategies to convert traffic into money. With mailing tools your web site can offer a better online advertising, can use online campaigns, educational materials to the visitors about advantages and benefits or your products/services. Mailing tools help to get real feedback from your clients; the feedback will shows you else your clients may need from your product/service, what hidden sellingpotential can be used to generate more sales.
The professional online mailing tool will ensure that you will have constant touch with your prospects, clients and subscribers. Being in touch means making your business relations with clients stronger andmore profitable.
Plus you can use one more strategy below to make your email advertising more effective.
4. Track the effectivity of your online business with URL tracking tools.
It is impossible to run any online business without the tools that help to track the response of your prospects, subscribers and clients to your text ads, to your new offers, to your advertising campaigns, etc. Without tracking this activity of your clients, you will never know for sure what gives you profits and what bringslosses.
That is why it is vitally important to know how many clicks where made on your links, how many people reacted to your offers.
This simple strategy can tell you a lot about the visitors to your web site. For example, you can write ad copy and put three links with three types of offers. When you know how much clicks were made for each offer, you know what offer got better response with your audience - you know what your clients want.
Then the strategy is simple: track and check what gives losses and what profits. Stick with the things that give profits, try new approaches and test them. After good testing your web site will turn into a highly effective mechanism that will bring you more and more profits.
5. Use attention-catching technologies to leave visitors on your web site.
Internet statistics shows that a great number of web site visitors may leave the web site in 10 seconds after getting to the web site. And usually these visitors will never return to your web site. That is why it is crucially important to hold the web site visitor longer. One of the time-proven solutions for "catching" the visitors into your list of clients and subscribers; this solution is new-age pop-up window.
When visitors get on your site, you give them some useful info or offer in the pop-up. You can give then educational course about the benefits of your products or service, teaching you clients how they will profit from it. You can give your visitors useful updates on the topics that have close relation to your product or service.
All you need is motivate your visitors to submit their name and email to the subscription form in the pop-up window. When they subscribe, you get this visitor into you database.
Once you got the visitor into your database, you can follow up this client with more products and services that you have. You may have more products and services in future, and this visitor will be your potential client for all of them.
But be very careful. Do not flood your visitors with useless offers. If they feel you are pushing them too hard to buy something, they will unsubscribe from your database.
So, you can see that traffic building strategies are not very difficult. But they have one drawback - they take time to be managed. And this is when online will help you. Today there are special tools and software that help to automate the usage of these strategies.
These tools will save your time, efforts and money. By the way, Internet marketing gurus use the automation power of tools as well. And their care for automating gave them millions in online business. Why shouldn't they help you.

Affiliate Marketing: An Online Marketing Strategy

Copyright 2005 Marsh Uele
Everybody it seems can make money online. The simplest way perhaps is to make money online through affiliate marketing. If you have a website, you can list other people's websites on yours and become an affiliate, making money online through sales commissions every time someone goes to their site through yours and makes a purchase. You can make anywhere from 5% to 30% by just advertising their link.
Further, affiliate marketing allows you to make money online by earning commissions off sub-affiliates, people you have brought on to be affiliates of the parent company. These two-tiered affiliates may seem like a pyramid scheme, but the point is, it generates a tremendous amount of traffic to your site as well as to your partners' sites, which helps everyone make money online.
The biggest key to making money online through an affiliate program is by generating traffic. You won't make money online, though, by adding numerous links that have nothing to do with you or your product. For example, if you are a web developer, you won't make money online by becoming an affiliate of websites selling fishing equipment. However, you can make money online by becoming an affiliate of web development software. Make money online by linking to bookstores that carry books your clients may be interested in or trade publications and e-zines. As with any business, it all depends on who you market to.
In order to make money online, you need diligence and perseverance. It won't be made overnight, but through continual marketing efforts, you can make money online.

All about SEO or SFO?

First let's start with definitions:
SEO:Search Engine Optimization, SFO: Search Friendly Optimization.
These two things are what most webmasters have trouble balancing. These things seem to always be on opposite ends. On one hand you have to make sure search engines can crawll your website without any problems. On the other you have to keep the site looking good to keep your visitors.
These are all based on what kind of site you plan on making. A corporate website selling shoes in the real world might focus on keeping the site looking good to visitors. And maybe pack it up with flash and all kinds of descriptive images. On the other side a site about online products, e-commerce, might cut back on the images and focus on seo. I will go into both of these just in case.
Let's start with seo. The first thing you need if you choose seo is to meta tags. Now there many meta tags generators out there for a quicker way to make them. But I suggest like me you make them yourself according to the search engines you want your site to better perform at. In short you have to study those search engines and find out how they get their content and what meta tags they require or may find usefull. Mine is based on goole so check out the source of the blog and those are the tags that google uses. Also a site that may help you out with your seo is:
http://sitesubmit.ca/ they require you to be a member to ue their tools but it's worth plus it's free. They have many seo tips and tools. In your reaserch of the search engine don't forget ranking. Find out what they base their search results on and how they decide which results show up first when a user queries. Like google uses google googlerank and overall page rank. But you may hav eto increase your content on a subject in order to increase your keyword density and such.
Second sfo. SFO is fairly easy to accomplish once you have the right info. Like many sites they host regular polls and surveys about what users like and their personnal opinions. It's an effective way of knowing your audience. Once you know most of your visitors like certain kinds of things you start providing them. Therefore pleasing your users and making a successful site. But never forget about the stalistics the users don't need to tell you. Like what browsers usually visit your site and what operatinf systems they use. And as many webmasters know firefox and internet exploer(leading browsers) have different rendering engines. So find out which most of your users use and customize your site to it. Also if the stalistics show that they have just about equal users use what we a splash page. To allow the user to show which version of the site they want to view. Two versions of your site may be hard to keep up but remember it's worth it. In one case one of my friends had to do four different versions. And keep them updated at the same time.
But also you may hav eto balance the two together if you want them both. Though it is hard it may be for the best.

Requirements for getting into adsense

Most people wouldn't know what the adsense people look at to decide whether or not you may be allowed to join adsense.
First of all you must have a full launched website, and I recommend many pages if you are to maximize your income. They also forbid any illegal materials on your site, many advertising agencies prohibit that. In all your site also needs to have some traffic. As the evaluation of your site may take days and in those days they check your traffic. Another thing you need to remember is that your content needs a solid theme. Not a high payig theme as many people just put up sites based on high paying keywords they see. You need to remember that you need trafic to get money from adsense.
The list google has a an excellent starter for some:

https://www.google.com/adsense/policies

But don't just stop there. Research in ways to make your site better. Get as much seo (search engine optimization) as you can. Remember a lot of new traffic comes from search engines. Make your site clean don't oveload it with ads as that may get your application rejected.

How to Boost Your Traffic and Profits with Content!

Are you aware of how vitally important and valuable CONTENT is to your online business? In fact, content can do more to build your business and profits than just about any other resource or service available.
Following is a list of 5 key ways that content can help build your traffic, subscribers, and customers starting today!...
1. Boost your search engine ranking and daily visitor count by posting keyword rich articles and content on your web-site. For example, if your business involves offering products and services related to fitness, posting fitness related articles and content will attract unlimited prospective customers on a regular basis!
2. Generate double or even triple the number of newsletter subscribers you do currently, simply by offering content in the form of "special reports" or manuals as bonuses for subscribing to your publication. People love freebies, so give them what they want and watch as your results increase!
3. Create an automated cashflow by using content to formulate multi-part email training courses with related web-site or affiliate links "sprinkled" throughout each course. Use an autoresponder service to automate the delivery of your training course (such as a 5 part training course delivered over a 5 day period).
Training courses can also serve as excellent bonus offers for your prospective newsletter subscribers.
4. One of the most important keys to a successful online business is not JUST having a list of mailing list or newsletter subscribers... It's about building a trusting relationship with your subscribers (ie, "cultivating" your list)...
By sending informative articles (content) to your list on a regular basis you will establish yourself as an expert on your topic of business, as well as gain the trust of your subscribers over time. As a result, your subscribers will be EAGER to take advantage of your "paid" product and service offers. (Just make sure that you NEVER take advantage of the relationship you develop with your list by offering products or services of poor quality just to make a quick buck!)
If there is one "constant" in Internet marketing, it's this: A cultivated list of subscribers is as good as money in the bank. Write that down and never forget it!
5. Another excellent way to generate no cost traffic is by submitting ready-made articles to "content hungry" web-site and newsletter publishers with your "resource box" attached. A resource box is nothing more than a little 3-6 line "bio" about you and/or your web-site - including a link to your site (or even instructions on how to subscribe to your newsletter)...
When submitting or offering your article(s) for reprint purposes, just make sure to specify that each article is to be reprinted "as is" with your resource box attached.
...Even one article can go a LONG way towards generating no cost traffic and visitors for you. Just imagine your article being sent out to a newsletter subscriber base of 100,000 individuals - many of whom will be reading YOUR included resource box and clicking on your URL to learn more about what you have to offer!
Well there you have it, 5 sure ways to build your online business exponentially with the help of articles and content...
With the declining effectiveness of many of the online advertising methods that we've relied on in past years, content is only strengthening its position as the ultimate KEY to generating unlimited traffic, subscribers, and customers!

Make Money Blogging

You have created a blog and your blog is dedicated to a niche industry. Have you ever thought that the blog could make money for you? We would look here in this article, ways and means, to make money blogging. Lets first have a look at what are the prerequisites for a blog needed to make money:
1. Blog needs to be dedicated to a niche market.2. Updated regularly.3. Enough back links (Don't worry for it. Directory submission would be enough to begin with)4. Good blog host or application (blogger, Xanga or typepad recommended), and5. High quality articles or news items supported with images.
Get the above criteria in place and Hurrah... You are ready to Make Money Blogging.
Top 5 Ways to Make Money Blogging
Lets now take a look at top 5 ways using which you could make money blogging:
1. Google AdsenseGoogle Adsense delivers text and image ads to the authorized websites/blogs depending on the content of the website. Small code is required to be pasted at proper locations on a webpage and Google automatically recognizes the page. Google shares the revenue it gets from the advertisers whenever a visitor clicks on these ads.
Google bills advertisers on price per click basis (PPC). Advertisers are required to pay only when any visitor clicks on their ads. They bid against each other for the keywords in order to receive better placement and thus prices for each keyword differ from one another. It is better to choose keywords for your blog which pays high $ per click.
2. AmazonAmazon Associate program is another important way to make money blogging. The Amazon Associate program gives opportunity to website/blog publishers to promote any product from its inventory by adding a predefined code to their website/blog, which, when clicked by a visitor, takes them to the relevant product page. Once the visitor buys the product, the blog owner will be compensated with a commission.
3. BlogadsYou can use Blogads as an effective tool to have a better control over the advertisers in your blogs. You can analyze and compare your profits with any one of your online agencies. Blogads can be simply specified as an advertising service used for the web logs or blogs. From the total money generated by Blogads, it retains 20% of it and the remaining money is paid to you through PayPal or checks.
Alternative Services:
• Crispads is another useful network focused on the blogs. You can put your advertisements in their blogs using Crispads. You can move through their RSS/ATOM feeds that help in generating revenues.• Tagword – It is similar to Blogads. It makes you select the ads and their price.
Users can place their text-based ads in the site within minutes and the ads will be displayed instantly on the website.
4. Affiliate ProgramsYour affiliate programs can help you earn a lot of money for selected products and services. Lot of websites offers you to become affiliate members. These affiliate programs can provide a better reach and an in-depth exposure to the products. The commissions for the sales differ according to the quality of the product, sales and marketing strategy involved. You can gather information related to the commissions by looking into the catalogues of Link Share and Commission junctions.
5. Text LinksText links has emerged out to be the best form of moneymaking source that you can use instead of cluttering or crowding the page with ads. You don’t have to make these text links prominent within your website. This link can act as an extra value to your site and will also help to promote the rankings of other sites. In most of the cases you will find these text links placed in the bottom of the web pages. The best part of this strategy is that the publishers send and accept links as the market continues to grow.

Marketing on the Internet: Legal Rules of the Road

The Internet is connecting advertisers and marketers to customers from Boston to Bali. If you're thinking about advertising on the Internet, remember that many of the same rules that apply to other forms of advertising apply to electronic marketing.
The Federal Trade Commission Act allows the FTC to act in the interest of all consumers to prevent deceptive and unfair acts or practices. The FTC has determined that a representation, omission or practice is deceptive if it is likely to:
1. Mislead consumers and
2. Affect consumers' behavior or decisions about the product or service.
In addition, an act or practice is unfair if the injury it causes is:
1. Substantial
2. Not outweighed by other benefits and
3. Not reasonably avoidable.
The FTC prohibits unfair or deceptive advertising in any medium. That is, advertising must tell the truth and not mislead consumers. A claim can be misleading if relevant information is left out or if the claim implies something that's not true. For example, a lease advertisement for an automobile that promotes "$0 Down" may be misleading if significant and undisclosed charges are due at lease signing.
In addition, claims must be substantiated, especially when they concern health, safety, or performance. The type of evidence may depend on the product, the claims, and what experts believe necessary. If your ad specifies a certain level of support for a claim - "tests show X" - you must have at least that level of support.
Other points to consider:
Disclaimers and disclosures must be clear and conspicuous. That is, consumers must be able to notice, read or hear, and understand the information. Still, a disclaimer or disclosure alone usually is not enough to remedy a false or deceptive claim.
Testimonials and endorsements must reflect the typical experiences of consumers, unless the ad clearly and conspicuously states otherwise. A statement that not all consumers will get the same results is not enough to qualify a claim. Testimonials and endorsements can't be used to make a claim that the advertiser itself cannot substantiate.
If your ad uses phrases like "satisfaction guaranteed" or "money-back guarantee," you must be willing to give full refunds for any reason. You also must tell the consumer the terms of the offer.
Non-Compliance
If you fail to follow these rules, you run the risk of being prosecuted by the FTC. Successful prosecutions typically result in injunctions against your site and damages awarded in the amount of $11,000 PER VIOLATION.

How to Use Viral Marketing for Online Profit

When Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith founded Hotmail.com they promoted it with a simple idea they called “Word of computer” advertising. Every message sent by a subscriber had a one-line promotional message attached….”Get Your Private, Free E-mail from Hotmail at www.hotmail.com”. Within the first 18 months of business they claimed 12 million sign-ups to their service… more than what CNN and AOL could garner in the same time period. With a cost per acquisition of just 4 cents this was a resounding success and a brilliant use of Viral Marketing Technique.

Viral marketing describes any strategy that encourages individuals to pass on a marketing message to others, creating the potential for exponential growth in the message’s exposure and influence. Like viruses, such strategies take advantage of rapid multiplication to explode the message to thousands, to millions."

It is an extremely effective form of word-of – mouth online promotion strategy used for amazing success by web frontrunners like Hotmail and Bluemountain.com. For a home based or small business, viral marketing is a smart and cost effective way to promote business and generate new sales leads. It is easy and fun.
The biggest benefit of viral marketing is that it helps you maintain a cost effective level of brand awareness at all times. It can reach beyond your target audience and mine for new leads; it creates a buzz around your products and services and provides accountability when tracked.
Also see: http://hackvan.com/pub/stig/etext/viral-marketing.html
Here are some tips for you to get your viral marketing campaign on the right track:

Have a great idea: Unless you have a really remarkable idea, it is going to be hard to get people interested in it; much less share it with others. A boring idea doesn’t get passed on. If you have a regular consumer product to sell and still want to use viral marketing, put on your creative hat and craft a promotional message that will make people want to pass it on to others.

Identify your core group: your core group or “hive” is a group of people who share a common interest and talk to each other about it. The core group can also be called ‘agents’. These are the guys who will be responsible for sending your ‘virus’ ahead. If your product/idea/ service doesn’t move this group, it isn’t going to get any further.

Ease of use: have you ever received an email with a mile long URL in it, asking to be sent to “15 people for a free gift”? if your answer is ‘yes’ then you know what I am talking about. Make it easy for your agents to tell their friends about your company. if they have to download pages of text or heavy graphics, they are more likely to hit the “delete” button and get out of there, fast!

Make it persistent: When you have built a sizeable community of converts, keep them happy. It is harder to go out and get new agents than making the existing ones work for you.

Referrals: A good way of utilizing viral marketing for your site is through referrals. If you are offering content or service, you can put up a “Tell a Friend” button that lets customers recommend products or Web pages via email to friends. Recommend-It and BigNoseBird.com are some of the sites that offer these services for free. These services allow you to keep track of those who recommend your site and the people they recommend it to.

Once you have started off the process all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. For more information on viral marketing take a look at:

The second easiest way to make money with Google

When people ask me what's the easiest way to make money with Google, I point them to this graph of the Google stock price (Nasdaq: GOOG). If you were lucky or astute enough to buy the stock at its IPO price, you'd have almost tripled your investment. And just imagine the gains you would have seen if you were an insider or an early investor!

Google stock ownership aside -- and the stratospheric growth in the stock price seems to have stalled recently -- the second easiest way to make money with Google is with the AdSense program. Putting up a website or a blog and devoting some of its prime real estate to displaying contextually-targeted advertisements (chosen automatically for you by Google) is an easy way to make some extra money. That's why my book is called Make Easy Money with Google, because it really is easy once you understand how AdSense works -- it takes more time than anything. And yes, if you work harder, you can even make a lot of money doing it -- there are people making thousands of dollars per month from AdSense (though I think most sites and blogs average between $50 and $250 a month, so don't do this expecting to get rich overnight).

But you have to be willing to give up something to get that money. A recent posting by the Graywolf called AdSense: Why Bloggers Don't Get It points out that many bloggers (and this also applies to website owners) don't treat their blogs as advertising vehicles. If you don't optimize your content and your layout for advertisement, you shouldn't complain about not making enough money from AdSense.
And you know what, AdSense isn't right for every situation either -- see my recent article When AdSense Makes No Sense. No one's obligating you to make advertising a prominent feature of your site or blog, but don't complain about your AdSense earnings if you're not putting some effort into the process. There's a reason why I didn't title my book Make Money with Google with No Effort -- it may be easy, but it's not effortless, and you have to be willing to play the game. more...

Pst! Wanna know some Adsense secrets? The only secret is that there are no secrets per se!
Do a search for Adsense secrets and you will be bombarded by a myriad of ads by trying to sell you the answers to making lots of money with Adsense.
Before you buy anything, my advise to you would be to do some research on a search engine and a bit of common sense. There are literally hundreds of forums where you can pick up valuable information, as well as hundreds of articles that have been written on the subject of Adsense.
Most of the answers are out there for you to find it you will put in a little bit of work. If you buy any of the ebooks available out there, you might find one little nugget of information that you may not have seen anywhere else, but I promise you: most of the time everything is out here on the Internet - all you have to do is search for it. Here are some of the search terms that I personally have used with great results:
increase adsense incomeincrease your adsense incomeadsense experimentsadsense adsense tricksadsense tips
What I can tell you from my own experience is this:
1. Ads at the top of the page and on the left of the page perfom better than any other ads. (Take a look at the "heatmap" from the Google link below)
2. Ads without background colour and borders perfom better than ads within borders with background colour.
3. Ads within content pages perform better than any other ads.
4. A search box on every page gives you another chance for earning Adsense income.
5. A blue link at the top of the ad, the ad in black, and the url also in black so that it blends in with the ad copy - also tends to perform well. A black url makes the link stand out and gives you a better chance of someone clicking on it.
Google has brought out some great Adsense optimization tips. You can read it here: Google Adsense optimization tips

Experiment with your settings and see which brings you the best results. Google's reporting has become a lot better in the last month or so, so you should instantly be able to see which ads result in better CTR.
To increase your site traffic, which obviously will increase your Adsense income, the best way to get traffic is to have fresh content at your site. Write your own articles and submit it to article directories like Go Articles etc. To find more article directories, just do a search for "free article directory submissions" on a search engine like Google.
Another way would be to publish articles by other authors that are relevant to your site content. You can find free articles all over the web by once again doing a search for e.g. "free site content".
Do this on a regular basis and watch your traffic (and your income) increase.

Whats AdSense ?

What's AdSense? - Information From Google:

Google AdSense is the program that can give you advertising revenue from each page on your website—with a minimal investment in time and no additional resources.

AdSense delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted—on a page-by-page basis—to the content people find on your site. And when you add a Google search box to your site, AdSense delivers relevant ads that are targeted to the Google search results pages generated by your visitors’ search request.

Earn more revenue

More relevant ads means more clicks—and more money for you. Because when users click on an ad, Google pays you. And if you have your own sales team, you’ll enjoy an important additional benefit: AdSense is designed to complement their efforts, not compete with them.

Get started in minutes

Becoming an AdSense publisher is simple. All it takes is a single online application. Once you're approved, AdSense takes only minutes to set-up. Just copy and paste a block of HTML and targeted ads start showing up on your website.

Access thousands of advertisers

With Google's extensive advertiser base, we have ads for all categories of businesses-and for practically all types of content, no matter how broad or specialized. And since Google provides the ads, you have no advertiser relationships to maintain.

The AdSense program represents advertisers ranging from large global brands to small and local companies. Ads are also targeted by geography, so global businesses can display local advertising with no additional effort. And you can use AdSense in many languages.

Google grasps the meaning of your content

AdSense can deliver relevant ads because Google understands the meaning of a web page. We've refined our technology, and it keeps getting smarter all the time. For example, words can have several different meanings, depending on context. Google technology grasps these distinctions, so you get more targeted ads.

Make extra money with a Google search box

Place a Google search box on your site, and you can start monetizing the results from web searches. Not only does this keep your users on your website longer—since they can search from where they are—it takes just minutes to implement. And you pay nothing to participate.

Show only appropriate ads

Google's ad review process ensures that the ads you serve are not only family-friendly, but also comply with our strict editorial guidelines. We combine sensitive language filters, your input, and a team of linguists with good hard common sense to automatically filter out ads that may be inappropriate for your content. What's more, you can block competitive ads and choose your own default ads. It's your show from start to finish.

Competitive Filter
Enables you to filter out specific competitors or specific advertisers
Contextual Filter
Eliminate delivery of ads that would be inappropriate to serve on pages

Editorial Review
All Google ads are reviewed and approved before being served on your pages
filters keep out inappropriate and competitive ads. Customizable default ads
In the unlikely event that Google is unable to serve targeted ads on your page, we provide the option to display a default ad of your choice.

Customize AdSense for your site

You can customize the appearance of ads, choosing from a wide range of colors and templates. Ditto with your search results page. Your reports are customizable, too. Flexible reporting tools let you group your pages in any way you want so you can view your results by URL, domain, ad type, category and more to learn where your earnings are coming from.

See what our customers say

“We’re seeing this impressive new revenue stream without incurring any cost. We’re maximizing our previously unsold inventory, and our revenue per page figure continues to grow.”
- Scott Zucker, Executive VP and COO, Intelligent Content Corp, PetPlace.com

“It took no time at all to copy and post the code on individual pages, and it fits well with our content management system and with the look and feel of all our pages.”
- Steve Larson, Founder, Our-Hometown.com

“Instead of spending money to hire an additional sales rep to sell ad banners, Google ads have become a virtual sales tool for us. Now we’re able to reap thousands of dollars in additional advertising revenue each month that we would very likely have missed without Google AdSense.”
- Robert Hoskins, Editor and Group Publisher, Broadband Wireless Exchange

“Google shows targeted ads reflecting the sorts of information and services SeatGuru visitors want. For a small business like mine, this is the best approach to advertising. You set it up easily, it automatically serves relevant ads, and it takes very little of my time.”

“At the beginning I was very concerned that I might lose traffic to competitors. I only used AdSense on a limited number of the site’s pages, and I watched the stats very carefully. If the traffic, pages per visitor, or conversion rates dropped I knew I could easily pull the ads...Since implementing AdSense, our ad revenue has increased more than tenfold, and 100 percent of my available inventory is now sold through AdSense.”

Make Money On Your Site With Google

Make Money On Your Site With Google

f you've been trying to earn money from your Web site then you've probably heard of Google Adsense. Now they offer a new tool to help you. Not only will you earn more money, you will add search to your site too.

When I started using Googe Adsense the only ads they had were text ads. They gave a title of a product or Web site, the URL and maybe a few words description. A few months ago they added graphical ads, more like the kind you're used to seeing on the Net.

Now you can add search. Just copy/paste the code into your Web page where you want the search box to show up and instantly your visitors can search the Internet.

If you want your readers to search your site, you can do that too. If Google had spidered your site then you can add search at site level. This is even greater for you because now you can promote your own pages while making money doing it.

Personalize the search by adding your own image to it. Do you have an image that represents your Web site, a logo, add it to the search bar. When someone does a search from your new Google search banner they will see your logo on the search page. You make money from this and advertise your site at the same time. What could be better.

Yahoo's Network

On Wednesday Yahoo released the beta of an expansion to its existing Yahoo Publisher Network, which enables large Web sites such as CNN.com and ESPN.com to run Yahoo sponsor ads and receive revenue when users click on those ads. Now Yahoo is extending that opportunity to small and medium-size Web publishers through a beta self-service platform that allows companies to choose what kind of ads they want to be placed on their sites, according to the company.

What is Pay Per Click ?

Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is when an advertiser pays for each qualified click that sends a search engine user (i.e., visitor) to the advertiser’s web page. PPC requires the advertiser to bid on key words or key word phrases chosen by the advertiser. There are many PPC advertising services available to choose from. Google AdWords and Overture are probably the two most popular in use today.
The PPC search engine allows you to buy a top position in the search engine results for the particular keyword or phrase you choose. The PPC search engines can deliver targeted and qualified visitors to your web page at an economical advertising cost if you manage the program carefully with a clear objective. PPC provides the advertiser with assurance that their ad is being delivered to the targeted audience.
PPC advertising uses a bidding process where the highest bidder or highest activity value, depending on the search engine, for a particular keyword or phrase will receive the top placement on the search engine results page. The PPC search engine will place your ad text in a special location on the results page when a user searches on your PPC keyword or phrase search term.
As an example, Google AdWords appear on the right side of the search results page while the organic (i.e., natural) search results appear on the left side of the page. In the case of Yahoo! Search, the sponsored ads appear on both the left and right side of the search results page. The top 2-3 sponsored ads appear in the top positions on the left side above the natural search results and the next 3 sponsored ads appear at the bottom of the left side and on the right side of the search results page along with other sponsored ads.
PPC advertising is a good way to obtain web page visitors when you don’t have a top ranking web page to get you the necessary natural search engine placement. Statistics show that over 80% of search engine users prefer the natural search results as opposed to sponsored ads. Nevertheless, the search engines deliver a huge amount of visitor traffic to the sponsored advertisers especially in the competitive keyword markets.
The typical PPC advertising campaign is based on the bid per click. For example, you bid $0.10 for a particular keyword or phrase that is accepted by the search engine. Whenever a search engine user clicks on your sponsored ad then you are charged $0.10 by the search engine. This amount is deducted from your account funds. Your placement in the search engine results page depends on the search engine. For Google, the placement is determined by your bid price and the ad’s click-through activity. For Yahoo, the placement is determined by your bid relative to other bids.
PPC can be an excellent method for getting visitor traffic to your web site but it can also cost you a lot of money. You need to be extremely careful and monitor your cost of using PPC versus the revenue generated. As the old saying goes, do the math. Calculate your return on investment (ROI) on a continuous basis to determine if you are making a profit on your PPC campaign.
As an example, assume your bid for a particular keyword is $0.10 and the product you sell has a profit margin of $15 after product costs (excluding PPC costs). If your conversion rate (the number of visitors that buy your product) is 1.0%, only 1 of your visitors will buy your product out of 100 visitors. Your net profit for every 100 visitors from your PPC campaign will be $5 ($15 profit margin less $10 for PPC).
It is a good idea to experiment with the different PPC search engines to find the one that works best for you. In addition, you need to spend the necessary time and effort to select the keyword or keyword phrase that has a profitable conversion rate for your specific web page. A higher conversion rate implies more profits to you.
Try to avoid the senseless bidding war with your competitors. Seriously evaluate whether having the number one placement position is worth the PPC price you pay. What about position numbers two, three and so on. Will you get enough clicks in one of those positions to make your PPC campaign a success? Do not automatically assume that you have to be in position number one to make a lot of money using PPC. It all comes down to experimenting and testing.
There is no such thing as the perfect PPC campaign. Evaluate the performance of your PPC campaigns on a continuous basis. Are you leaving money on the table by not adjusting your PPC bid to a lower level? Should you increase the bid price to get more traffic? Is your conversion rate changing? What are your competitors doing? Should you be considering different keywords in your campaign? PPC advertising is a great way to get traffic but at a definite price. PPC requires a thorough knowledge of the PPC search engines that you use and constant monitoring and evaluation of your campaigns.
